Front Cover

Artists and bands make funny album covers as a way to promote there single and brand image as people find it appealing when there album cover looks good. Our brand image for our group is that there all about having fun and being young. To portray this through to the album cover we want to make a comical album cover. I have been looking at various artists and bands which have the same pop/dance genre and similar brand image to our band to find inspiration on what a good album cover looks like.


The wombats have got a comical and different album cover as the people are holding up post cards in front of there faces whilst sitting on the beach. The central image is good as it's like someone has taken this as a photograph on a fun holiday. The brightly blue 'sky' background and yellow 'beach' represents having a good time. The wombats are a very similar brand image to our band as both bands are about having fun.  This shows that a funny album cover can seem appealing to the target audience as they have an idea of what there music is going to be about. I think this album cover is effective as when audiences see this they'll want to listen to them.

This is another example of a funny album cover even though it's just example on the front he's wearing geeky things and making stupid expressions, it also looks like he's taking a photo for his profile picture as he's posing, It looks really good and funny especially the one where he's wearing a bear suit. Example is also an artist within the pop/dance genre and he has the same brand image. It's creative this album cover and is appealing to the audience as the comical pictures will be effective as the audience will want to look into this album. The fact that he's got the name of the album spread across each box is appealing and creative.

Ugly Betty opening credits is our inspiration for the front cover as it relates really well with our music video because like our video ugly betty also uses different peoples faces however, ugly betty just uses women's faces our front cover is going to be a mans bow-tie, woman's lips, a man's nose and then a woman's eyes.

Kings of leon put across the brand image of being quirky, unique and having fun because as soon as you look at this album cover you automatically want to look inside because the cover is funny and interesting. They have a mixture of people and animals cutting off sectors of there faces and then adding them next to different faces. This album cover will be very appealing to teenagers and young adults because this is the sort of fun album cover that makes you want to look at what sort of music they do.
